The Environment

Since 2013, Mayfield has been an ISO14001-accredited firm, operating under the British Assessment Bureau’s standard of environmental practice. We consistently work to reduce our emissions and maintain ongoing measures to reduce our impact on the environment.

Mayfield takes its responsibility to the environment seriously.

• We recently implemented a system that calculates the carbon footprint of any individual product so it can be offset on a job-by-job basis.
• Our computer-to-plate system produces plates without the use of volatile chemicals.
• All of our litho process inks are vegetable oil-based rather than mineral oil, minimising fossil-fuel oil use.
• All of our waste paper (both inked and white paper) is collected and recycled.
• All aluminium plates, pallets, cardboard, ink tins and most plastics are sorted, segregated and recycled.
• Used press chemistry, ink waste, ink tins and obsolete computer equipment are collected by a specialist company, recycled where possible and where not possible, disposed of correctly.
